Does Adrienne Lee Mediation & Family Law handle divorce and separation agreements?

Yes. The firm handles all aspects of family law, including negotiating separation agreements covering parenting, support, and property, and can move to court litigation if a matter can't be resolved through negotiation or mediation.

How does family mediation work with this firm?

Mediation starts with separate intake meetings, then the parties exchange financial information before the mediation itself, which is typically a half day or full day session where the mediator facilitates settlement discussions. A second session can follow if needed, and the mediator writes a report setting out the agreed terms for each side to take to their own lawyer.

Can mediation still work if our situation is high conflict?

The firm's own materials note that mediation can be successful even when there's a high degree of conflict between the parties. Shuttle mediation, where each side stays in a separate room and the mediator moves between them, is offered for situations where sitting across the table isn't workable.

Do I need my own lawyer to attend mediation?

No. Clients can attend mediation with or without a lawyer, though getting independent legal advice on the mediator's report afterward is recommended before finalizing an agreement.

The office is at 393 University Avenue, Suite 2000, in downtown Toronto. The firm is based in Toronto and assists clients throughout the Greater Toronto Area, with both in person and virtual (Zoom) consultations available.
