About OV Law

OV Law is a small law practice in Pembroke, Ontario, founded in 2025 by lawyer Brent Smith, who owns and operates the firm. Smith earned a law degree from the University of Gloucestershire, then completed a master of laws at the University of Ottawa before becoming a member of the Law Society of Ontario. The firm works from an office on Pembroke Street East in downtown Pembroke, serving clients across Pembroke and the wider Ottawa Valley.

The practice covers wills, estates and powers of attorney, residential and commercial real estate purchases, sales and refinances, corporate matters such as incorporations, annual resolutions and shareholder agreements, and family law work including separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts and divorces. On the real estate side, OV Law also acts as a third party service provider for Sirva, the corporate relocation company formerly known as BGRS, handling closings tied to corporate moves into and out of the area. Smith describes the goal as giving clients straightforward advice and keeping the legal process manageable rather than overwhelming.
