About Lillico Bazuk Galloway Halka

Lillico Bazuk Galloway Halka traces its roots to a Peterborough law practice founded by G.N. Gordon after the First World War. Gordon's son, W.B. (Pete) Gordon, later joined the practice, and James Lillico became a partner alongside Pete Gordon after the Second World War. In 1965, Gordon and Lillico moved the partnership to 163 Hunter Street West, a building constructed in 1875 as the Oriental Hotel. When G.N. Gordon retired in 1978, Peter Lillico, James's son, joined the firm in 1979, and Stephen Bazuk became a partner in 1983. James Lillico stepped back from practice in 1990 but continued to serve as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court.

Peg Galloway joined the firm in 1996 and became a partner in 2000, and Elizabeth Halka became a partner in 2014, bringing the firm to its current name. Today the team handles business and corporate law, family law and family mediation, wills and estate planning, real estate, cottage succession planning, disability and Henson trust planning, civil litigation, and criminal law. The building at 163 Hunter Street West underwent renovations in 2012 that restored elements of its original Oriental Hotel appearance.
