About VTA Law Professional Corporation

VTA Law Professional Corporation is a small firm in Ottawa, practising family law, real estate law, wills and estates, and corporate law. It's led by Valerie Akujobi, J.D., who holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude with a specialization in alternative dispute resolution, and a Bachelor of Journalism and Legal Degree from Carleton University with high honours. Before entering practice, Akujobi served as a judicial law clerk to judges of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, working on family law, criminal law, and civil litigation files, and later worked in public sector communications.

Akujobi has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court, and various administrative tribunals, and is on Legal Aid Ontario's roster for family law. Associate lawyer Aisha Farid, called to the Bar in 2024, earned a Civil Licentiate in Law and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, and focuses on family law, wills and estates, and real estate transactions. Farid offers services in French along with Urdu, Farsi, and Punjabi, giving the firm reach into Ottawa's multilingual community. VTA Law serves clients across Ottawa, Eastern Ontario, and Toronto.
