About Valerie
Valerie Akujobi leads VTA Law Professional Corporation, practising family law, real estate law, and corporate law in Ottawa. She has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court, as well as various administrative tribunals. During her articles she served as a judicial law clerk, providing research and editing assistance to judges of the Superior Court of Justice in family law, criminal law, and civil litigation matters, and she also summered as a law student at a national firm. Valerie holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, where she graduated cum laude with a specialization in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and a Bachelor of Journalism and Legal Studies from Carleton University with High Honours. Before practising law, she worked in the public sector as a communications specialist on award-winning national projects.
