Ryan E. Durran, Barrister is a solo criminal defence practice based in downtown Ottawa, at Suite 600, 141 Laurier Avenue West. The practice serves clients across Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley, handling matters from bail through trial as well as appeals to the Summary Conviction Court of Appeal, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Trial work covers charges ranging from assault and impaired driving to major fraud, criminal conspiracy, and murder. The practice also takes on quasi-criminal and regulatory prosecutions, such as Highway Traffic Act charges, which aren't criminal offences but can still carry fines, licence suspensions, or jail time.

Durran was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2019. Before that, Durran graduated summa cum laude from the University of Ottawa and earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. During two summers with the Ministry of the Attorney General's Crown Law Office - Criminal, Durran helped prepare trials and appeals at every level of court, up to the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, and prosecuted matters under the Provincial Offences Act and the Highway Traffic Act. Durran then completed articles with a criminal litigation firm in Toronto before taking up practice in Ottawa.
