Lust represents clients in Ottawa and across Ontario in matters including sexual assault, domestic assault, impaired driving, drug offences, firearm offences, theft, and white collar charges, from the initial arrest through trial and appeal. The firm offers virtual, telephone, and in-person meetings, and it exchanges documents and handles billing online so clients don't need to come into the office for every step of a case.

Nikolas J. Lust earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Ottawa with Magna Cum Laude honours, then a Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law with Cum Laude distinction, finishing at the top of the class in Criminal Law and Trial Advocacy. Lust articled under a senior criminal defence lawyer in Toronto before returning to Ottawa to open the practice. Since then, the practice has litigated cases in courts across Ontario, including Ottawa, Toronto, Kingston, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, Brockville, Cornwall, and L'Orignal. Lust belongs to the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, the Criminal Lawyers' Association, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
