About HazloLaw - Business Lawyers

HazloLaw is a small business law firm headquartered in Ottawa's Byward Market, with a second office at 5 Church Street in Toronto. Hugues Boisvert founded the firm in October 2011, not long after an internship at Grosso & Co, a business law firm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The firm's name comes from the Spanish word "hazlo," meaning "do it," a nod to the practical, get it done approach it takes with entrepreneurs and business owners. Boisvert, who holds a civil law licence from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Common Law from the University of Moncton, practices in English, French, and Spanish.

The firm concentrates on three areas: business law, international law, and tax dispute resolution and litigation. Its international work has a direct line back to Argentina: Juan Carlos Grosso, founding member of Grosso & Co in Buenos Aires, the same firm where Boisvert once interned, later joined HazloLaw as counsel. Grosso has more than 25 years of experience in international corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and natural resources work across Latin America, and since 2003 has served as the legal representative of Northstar Trade Finance, an entity supervised by Export Development Canada. Business lawyer Goke Adeboye adds a third jurisdiction: a solicitor and barrister in Nigeria who also trained as a solicitor in the United Kingdom.
