About FP Law

FP Law is a corporate and commercial business and litigation firm with offices in London, Ontario and Toronto. The practice is built around four areas: business matters, dispute resolution, estates and succession planning, and employment law. Partner Jim Ferguson focuses on strategic and daily business advice for entrepreneurs and established companies, while partner Catherine Patterson has built a litigation practice around commercial disputes, including shareholder and partnership conflicts and commercial real estate matters. Both partners have practiced law for 25 years.

Counsel Erin Rankin Nash rounds out the team with estates, personal injury, elder law and health law experience, having spent six years on Ontario's Consent and Capacity Board. The firm describes most of its files as settling before trial and positions itself to work alongside a client's accountant or other advisors rather than in place of them; it also takes on referral matters from other legal professionals. Several of the firm's law clerks trained through Fanshawe College's Law Clerk Program, supporting work such as estate administration, real estate closings and corporate due diligence.
