About Hooper Law

Hooper Law is a personal injury firm based in Hamilton, with satellite offices in Stoney Creek and Grimsby that put lawyers closer to clients across the surrounding area. Robert Hooper founded the practice in Hamilton in 2001 after several years in insurance litigation and personal injury work at other Hamilton firms. In November 2023 the firm reverted to the Hooper Law name it had started under. Personal injury is the only work the firm does, covering motor vehicle collisions, slip and falls, medical malpractice, sexual and physical assault, dog bites, defective products, brain and spinal cord injury, wrongful death, and long term disability and other insurance claims.

Hooper is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation with the Law Society of Ontario and was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in April 2020, a body whose membership is capped at roughly one percent of the practising bar in any province or state. Hooper also holds a New Brunswick law licence and sits as a Small Claims Court Judge there. Kimberly Jossul, who joined in 2019 after years at a Hamilton insurance defence firm, and Sean Hayward, who joined in 2025 from a small Cambridge firm focused on medical negligence, round out the firm's lawyers. Cases are taken on contingency, with no fee charged unless the client recovers money.
