Leslie J. Smith - Employment Law & Dispute Resolution is a sole employment law practice in Oakville, Ontario. Leslie J. Smith holds a B.A. and an LL.B. and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988. Smith articled at a Toronto litigation firm in 1986 and 1987, training first in insurance law and civil litigation, then built a broad general practice touching personal injury, human rights, real estate, and estates before opening an independent practice in Oakville in 1995 and narrowing the focus to employment law.

Today the firm represents non-union employees and employers on hiring, employment contracts, terminations, disability claims, and workplace harassment and discrimination matters, and it also conducts workplace investigations, mediation, and arbitration. Smith trained as a mediator in 2008 and served as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court in Halton County from 2003 to 2021, a part-time judicial appointment open only to lawyers with at least ten years of practice. Smith wrote a legal guide for non-union employees, published in 2014, and spent 17 years as a legal columnist for the Burlington Post.
