W. Glen How & Associates LLP is based in Georgetown, Ontario, with a second office in St-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec. The firm continues a tradition of constitutional and civil liberties work that founder W. Glen How began after How's call to the Bar of Ontario in 1943, starting to represent Jehovah's Witnesses in religious freedom cases at a time being a Jehovah's Witness was itself prohibited in Canada. How went on to argue a series of Supreme Court of Canada cases, including R v Boucher, Saumur v Quebec (City of), and Chaput v Romain, that helped establish freedom of religion and expression in Canadian law.

The firm's current partners and associates practise civil litigation, health, family, estate, international, and criminal law, appearing at every level of court in Canada and before international bodies such as the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations Human Rights Committee. Its docket isn't confined to Canada: partners have appeared in courts across the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries. Several are called to the bar in more than one jurisdiction, including Quebec, British Columbia, England and Wales, and Ireland. How received the Order of Canada in 2001, and in 1997 became the tenth recipient, and the first Canadian, of the American College of Trial Lawyers' Award for Courageous Advocacy.
