About Amiri Family Law

Amiri Family Law is a single lawyer family law practice based in Burlington, Ontario, with consultation offices in Oakville and Mississauga so clients across Halton and Peel can meet closer to home. Founder Nima Amiri earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary's Faculty of Law, finishing among the top of the class in family law courses, and worked as a caseworker with the school's Student Legal Assistance clinic, representing low income clients in Alberta's provincial courts. Before opening this practice, Amiri articled at a Toronto law firm and stayed on as an associate practising criminal defence, a courtroom background that carries into how contested family files get prepared here.

The practice is entirely family law: separation and divorce, child custody and access, child support, spousal support, property and asset division, and prenuptial agreements. Its stated approach treats court as a last resort, working through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or collaborative family law first and moving to litigation only once those routes are exhausted. Amiri Family Law belongs to the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Family Law Association, and it offers a free case evaluation before a client commits to hiring the firm.
