About Yoav

Yoav Niv is a Calgary lawyer representing clients on criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory charges at both the trial and appeal levels, as well as in civil litigation, insurance claims, and judicial review. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Simon Fraser University and completed his law degree at the University of Ottawa, graduating on the dean's honour list. He articled with one of Canada's prominent criminal defence lawyers, logging over 7,000 hours with criminal defence teams in Toronto, Calgary, and Ottawa, and assisted the University of Ottawa's Innocence Project reviewing wrongful conviction claims. He is a returning assistant instructor for the University of Calgary Law Faculty's Advocacy Course and the Alberta Bar Admission Course.
