About Victoria
Victoria Carrington is a managing partner at Aventum IP Law LLP, where she practises as a lawyer and trademark agent specializing in trademark acquisition, protection and enforcement, as well as internet, domain name and copyright matters. She advises clients ranging from multinationals with large trademark and domain name portfolios to small businesses and individuals. Victoria was closely involved in international internet governance, helping form the Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN and serving as one of its initial representatives on the Domain Name Supporting Organization's governing council. She has represented clients in numerous UDRP proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization and eResolution, helping them recover or retain domain names. Before becoming a lawyer, Victoria practised as a dentist, having earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Semmelweis University of Medicine in Budapest. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1999, and became a registered trademark agent in 2000.
