About Vanessa
Vanessa Lam founded Lam Family Law in 2012 after clerking at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and working as an associate at a family law firm in Toronto. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2009 and earned her JD from Queen's University in 2008, graduating with the University Medal in Law for the highest cumulative grade point average in her class. Her practice focuses on family law strategy, research, and written advocacy, and she assists other family law lawyers with factums, legal opinions, and appeal materials. She is active with the Family Law Section of both the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association, where she has held several executive committee roles, and she frequently speaks and writes on family law appeals, costs, and expert evidence, with work published in the Ontario Family Law Reporter and the Canadian Family Law Quarterly.
