About Valentin

Valentin Erikson is the founder of Erikson Law Firm, an Ottawa firm focused on real estate, wills and estates, tax and business law. He clerked at the Tax Court of Canada and worked as a policy advisor to the Minister of National Revenue before entering private practice, giving him particular depth in the tax implications of real estate transactions. He worked with the federal Minister of Justice and Attorney General on Bill C-32, the Civil Marriage of Non-residents Act, legislation that resolved a residency loophole affecting foreign same-sex couples seeking divorce in Canada. Erikson Law Firm maintains a gay-friendly practice and serves the LGBTQ community across its business law, real estate and tax law work. Valentin practises in English, French and Russian and serves clients throughout Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Manotick and Orleans.
