Erikson Law Firm is a solo practice run by lawyer Valentin Erikson out of an office on Deakin Street in Ottawa's west end. Erikson earned a political science degree from Carleton University, then completed a Licentiate in Law and a Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa's law school, clerking at the Tax Court of Canada along the way, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2009. Before opening the firm, Erikson worked as a tax associate at one of Canada's large national law firms and then spent more than six years in federal government roles, including as a policy advisor to two federal Justice Ministers and to the Minister of National Revenue.

The firm now handles real estate, wills and estates, and tax law for clients across Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Manotick and Orleans, and quotes flat fees for most of this work rather than billing by the hour. Erikson's tax background carries into the rest of the practice, from structuring property transfers to challenging CRA reassessments and filing voluntary disclosures. The firm describes itself as a gay friendly practice and says it aims to provide a safe place for LGBTQ clients, and Erikson can provide services in English, French and Russian. Erikson belongs to the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association.
