About Trista
Trista Carey is a senior partner at Schnell Hardy Jones LLP practising estate planning and administration, adult guardianship and trusteeship, real estate, and corporate and commercial law. She earned her Bachelor of Management with a major in Marketing from the University of Lethbridge in 1999 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2005, articling with Schnell Hardy Jones LLP and being called to the bar in 2006. Her estate planning practice covers trusts, blended families, and business and farm succession planning, and she has given presentations on guardianship and trusteeship issues. Trista has appeared in reported decisions including Canada (Attorney General) v E.F. before the Alberta Court of Appeal, and has published commentary in The Economist and presented for the Legal Education Society of Alberta on family law tax consequences and corporate aspects of family law.
