About Rick
Rick Howarth is a partner at Schnell Hardy Jones LLP with more than 30 years of experience in family law, having appeared at every level of court in Alberta. Born and raised in Red Deer, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1989 and his Juris Doctor in 1992, both from the University of Calgary, before articling at Schnell Hardy Jones and becoming a partner in 1994. He has been Senior Partner since 2017 and serves as Co-Managing Partner of the firm. Rick handles all areas of family law, including separation and divorce, property division, parenting disputes, and child and spousal support, and regularly appears on behalf of the Director of Income and Employment Supports and the Director of Maintenance Enforcement. He is a member of the Collaborative Lawyers Association of Central Alberta and the Central Alberta Bar Society.
