About Teresa
Teresa DuBois was raised in Western Canada and moved east to attend the University of Ottawa, earning a B.A. in 2005 and an LL.B. in 2009. She has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2010. She joined the firm after fifteen years at a general practice firm, choosing to focus on family law, and her broader background helps since family law often touches on other areas of law. She articled at the Superior Court of Justice and also serves as a Small Claims Court judge, though in her own practice she prefers negotiation, mediation and a Collaborative Family Law approach to help separating clients reach resolutions quickly and affordably. She is a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children's Lawyer, taking on cases involving child protection, adoption and guardianship, and she volunteers with Lanark Community Justice and 100 Women Who Care (Lanark), serving as Treasurer of the County of Lanark Law Association. She practises in both of Canada's official languages and is happy to assist clients in French.
