About Syed
Syed Kabir has practiced law for more than 20 years, with a focus on family, civil, criminal, estate, business and corporate matters, and is a Certified Specialist in Family Mediation. Syed began a career as an associate before becoming partner at a firm working in civil litigation, criminal litigation, and corporate, commercial and banking matters, later serving as Senior Legal Counsel and then General Counsel at a multinational corporation. That role included work across countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the UAE. The approach to resolving conflict starts with negotiation and mediation, turning to litigation only when necessary. Syed earned an LL.B. from the University of Dhaka (1996), an LL.M. from the University of Leeds (1998) and a PGDL from Nottingham Trent University (1999), and was called to the bars of England and Wales, Bangladesh, and Ontario (2014). Languages spoken include Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
