About Sumit
Kanwar transitioned from medicine to law in 2020, earning a Juris Doctor with distinction from Bond University in 2022 and being called to the Alberta Bar in 2023. Kanwar holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pecs and Aureus University School of Medicine (2015) and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2017. Prior to law school, Kanwar served on the Medical Board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation for five years. During law school, Kanwar was a finalist for an NHL arbitration moot and received the First in Class award for both Taxation Law and Family Law, and speaks Hindi and Punjabi.
