About Subodh

Subodh S. Bharati is a barrister and solicitor practising in refugee law, human rights, immigration, and civil litigation. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007 and was called to the bar in 2008. Before law school, he completed an MSc in Mathematics from King's College, University of London, and an Honours BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from the University of Western Ontario. During law school, he was President of the Osgoode International Law Society and the South Asian Law Students Association, and volunteered with the Community and Legal Aid Support Program. He was later an associate at the civil litigation boutique Paul Lee & Associates before starting his own practice. Bharati appears regularly before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and the Superior Court of Ontario, and has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada, sits on the Legal Aid Ontario Refugee and Immigration Appellate Panel, and belongs to the Refugee Lawyers Association, the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association.
