About Stephen

Stephen M. Cheifetz practises corporate and commercial law, tax planning and structuring, banking and finance, and estate planning in Windsor, Ontario. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1982 and has advised businesses of all sizes, from early-stage startups to large multinational companies operating in Canada. The Government of Ontario has retained him to present seminars in the United States on doing business in Canada, and he has lectured for the U.S. Small Business Administration on the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. He has also taught business law at the University of Windsor and international sales and secured transactions at the Detroit Mercy School of Law, and has served on the boards of several U.S. and European companies with Canadian operations. Cheifetz holds an LL.B. from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and completed CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Course. He is active in the Windsor community, serving as President of the Windsor Jewish Federation and as a member of the Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network.
