About Stephen

Stephen Barnes was called to the Newfoundland and Labrador bar in 2016 and joined Bob Buckingham Law in 2019. He maintains a busy civil litigation practice focused on representing survivors of sexual abuse as well as general personal injury matters, and has represented more than one hundred abuse survivors in claims against the province, school boards, and several religious denominations, including the Roman Catholic Church, the United Church, and the Pentecostal Assemblies. He has also helped expand the firm's class action practice, acting as co-counsel in privacy breach class actions in the health care sector, a salmonella outbreak linked to eggs, and a case involving mammogram screening equipment used by the Provincial Health Authority.
