About Sophie

Sophie Liang is the president of Brighid Law Corporation, a business law firm in downtown Vancouver that primarily serves Chinese investors and business owners active in Canada and China. She holds an LL.B., an LL.M., and a Juris Doctor from law schools in China and Canada, and has been called to the Chinese Bar as well as the Bar of British Columbia and the Bar of Alberta. Her practice covers business and commercial law, with particular experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing, and international trade disputes. Before practising Chinese law, Sophie worked for five years as a judge in the International Trade Law Division at the Supreme Court of Guangxi, China, and she has also worked at a top-five international law firm's Vancouver office and at the Commercial Tribunal of Marseille in France. She speaks, reads, and writes fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and has been a guest speaker on Fairchild Radio and a mentor for S.U.C.C.E.S.S.'s Business Immigrant Integration Support Program.
