About Brighid Law Corporation

Brighid Law Corporation is a business law firm based in downtown Vancouver, with a second office in Richmond, BC. It's led by Sophie Liang, the firm's president, who was called to the Chinese Bar and to the bars of British Columbia and Alberta after earning an LL.B., an LL.M., and a Juris Doctor from law schools in China and Canada. Before moving into private practice, Liang spent five years as a judge in the International Trade Law Division of the Supreme Court of Guangxi in China, then worked at a large international law firm's Vancouver office and for the Commercial Tribunal of Marseille in France.

The firm handles business and commercial law for clients moving between Canada and China, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, commercial real estate acquisition and development, and international trade disputes. Its Chinese Investment Practice serves investors from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan buying or building businesses in Canada. The team members were born and grew up in Mainland China and are native Mandarin and Cantonese speakers, and Sophie Liang speaks, reads, and writes English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, so clients can work with Brighid Law in Mandarin, Cantonese, or English.
