About Shawn

Shawn Gabel grew up on a farm near Melville, Saskatchewan and moved to Vancouver in 2001, where he worked in the communications technology and construction industries before completing a political science degree at Simon Fraser University in 2010. He earned his law degree at the University of Victoria in 2015, taking part in its co-operative education program and holding positions with the BC Ministry of Justice, the Capital Regional District, and the Office of the Ombudsperson. After articling with a firm in Courtenay, he was called to the bar in 2016 and has since appeared in Provincial Court, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the BC Court of Appeal. His practice covers real property, construction, and corporate disputes, and he works remotely from the Comox Valley, drawing on his background in technology and construction for property-related matters.
