About Shailaja

Shailaja Nadarajah is an associate at Savards LLP who practices criminal law at all levels of court and represents clients before the Ontario Review Board. She has defended clients against a wide range of offences, including firearms charges, sexual assault and murder, and uses her practice to advocate for victims of state oppression and marginalized individuals. Shailaja obtained her law degree at Queen's University's Faculty of Law, where she won the Bronze and Silver Scholar awards, assisted low-income clients through the Queen's Family Law Clinic, and earned the top oralist prize in the final round of the Gale Cup Moot from three Supreme Court of Canada justices. She completed her undergraduate degree in life sciences at McMaster University. Before joining Savards LLP, she clerked at the British Columbia Court of Appeal and summered and articled at a national full-service firm.
