About Savards LLP

Savards LLP is a small Toronto firm that practices exclusively in criminal, constitutional, and regulatory law. The firm's own privacy policy still identifies it by an earlier name, Savard Foy LLP, and by an earlier address on Simcoe Street, showing the practice has both renamed itself and moved to its current office on Soho Street since those years.

The firm's lawyers defend people facing serious charges, including murder, firearms offences, drug trafficking, and sexual assault allegations, from the investigation stage through trial and appeal. Several lawyers at the firm previously clerked at appellate courts, and the firm regularly argues appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, in addition to constitutional challenges that arise out of criminal cases. The firm also advises people who are under investigation but not yet charged.

Founding partner Megan Savard has taught trial advocacy at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and was the David Asper Centre's Constitutional Litigator in Residence for the 2025 to 2026 academic year. Megan Savard is also a past director of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and co-chaired its Litigation Committee. More than one lawyer at the firm has received the Precedent Setter Award.
