About Sébastien

Sébastien Lormeau holds a B.Sc. in biological sciences and an LL.B., both from Université de Montréal. He began his career in comparative-law research at the Centre de recherche en droit public, working with Professor Bartha Maria Knoppers on research ethics. He later worked at McMaster Meighen, which became Borden Ladner Gervais, where he practised commercial litigation and medical civil liability, representing several McGill-affiliated hospitals. Since 2002 he has practised on his own, dividing his time between private civil-liability practice, information-technology law, and research-ethics consulting for hospitals across the province. He has sat on and chaired a number of hospital research-ethics committees for more than a decade, and he also founded an information-technology company, Meridium Technologies, in 2003.
