Family LawScott Horne maintains a general practice in Edmonton focused on litigation, immigration, and family law. He earned his bachelor's degree at Yale University and two law degrees, both with highest honours, from McGill University, and has published legal scholarship, edited a leading Canadian law journal, and taught law courses. Before entering private practice he served as a judicial clerk to the Court of Appeal of Quebec and the Federal Court, and has also worked as a Crown prosecutor. In immigration law he has helped people from more than seventy countries come to Canada temporarily or permanently; he is himself an immigrant to Canada from the United States. His family law clients find him supportive and practical, and he aims to reduce the emotional and financial burden of divorce and other family law matters. He is fluent in English, French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Latin, and has a working command of Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, German and American Sign Language.
