Rodger W. Linka has practised law in Saskatchewan since 1978, beginning his career in general practice with an emphasis on criminal prosecutions and defence. His current practice centers on estate planning and administration, including the development of discretionary (Henson) trusts, along with a commercial law practice covering the purchase and sale of businesses, corporate succession planning, and general business advising. He also maintains an active real estate practice spanning residential and commercial transactions, financing, and commercial leasing. Linka advises charitable and non-profit organizations, including those involved in social housing, and in 2003 was contracted by the federal government as a senior adjudicator for the Indian Residential Schools Alternative Dispute Resolution project, later serving as Deputy Chief Adjudicator under the resulting Settlement Agreement, where he supervised sixteen adjudicators. He holds a B.A. and LL.B. and is a Chartered Arbitrator (C.Arb.). Linka has been active in community organizations including the Conexus Arts Centre and the Public Legal Education Association, which recognized him with its Volunteer of the Year Award in 2005.
