Administrative & Regulatory LawRhéal Éloi Fortin joined Dunton Rainville in 2017 as counsel. He was previously a founding partner of the firm Bissonnette et Fortin in 1993. Fortin has practised mainly in civil and commercial law since being called to the bar in 1989, and has been accredited by the Barreau du Québec as a civil and commercial mediator since 1998. He is recognized in the business community for his practical approach and thorough understanding of his clients' needs and concerns. Fortin sat on the executive council of the Barreau de Laurentides-Lanaudière from 2006 to 2016 and served as its bâtonnier for the 2013-2014 term, during which he focused on improving access to justice through the promotion of alternative dispute resolution methods including negotiation, mediation, conciliation, and arbitration. He sat on the Conseil général du Barreau du Québec between 2012 and 2014. In recent years, Fortin has been heavily involved in political, community, and social life in the Laurentides region, sitting on several boards and committees within the health network and various social and charitable organizations. He has served as the federal Member of Parliament for the riding of Rivière-du-Nord since October 19, 2015.
