About Preevanda

Preevanda K. Sapru has practised exclusively in immigration and refugee law since being called to the Ontario Bar in 1998, and has worked in association with Leigh Salsberg since 2011. She assists clients with permanent residence applications, including under the Federal Skilled Worker program, the Canada Experience Class, Provincial Nominee Programs, family sponsorships, humanitarian and compassionate applications, work and study permits, refugee claims, and citizenship applications. Her litigation practice includes appeal work at all three divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court of Canada. From 2006 to 2011 she was the immigration lawyer affiliated with the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic, developing a specialty working with women survivors of violence. She earned her first LL.B. from the University of Jammu in India, was called to the New Delhi Bar and practised there for three years, then obtained a Master of Laws in Public International Law from the University of Minnesota before completing a second LL.B. through Osgoode Hall Law School and the Joint Committee of Accreditation.
