About Leigh

Leigh Salsberg has practised exclusively in immigration and refugee law since 2004 and in association with Preevanda K. Sapru since 2011. She represents clients in all types of immigration matters, from family sponsorships to refugee claims, work and study permits, and national security cases, and has litigated at the Immigration and Refugee Board, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada. She has been involved in legal challenges to the Safe Third Country Agreement as counsel for Amnesty International, the Canadian Council for Refugees, and the Canadian Council of Churches. As former chair of the Access to Justice Committee of the Refugee Lawyers' Association of Ontario, she worked on campaigns against cuts to Legal Aid Ontario funding for immigration and refugee services. Salsberg is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
