About Pierre

Pierre Brun has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1989, graduated from the Université Laval's law faculty in 1987, and holds a master's degree on human rights charters and environmental law from the Université de Montréal. A partner at the firm, he practises exclusively in union-side labour law and specializes in human rights and fundamental freedoms cases, having argued several significant matters before the Quebec Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has co-authored the reference work Alter Ego on charters of rights and freedoms, published by Wilson & Lafleur, for more than twenty years. He co-founded Avocats sans frontières Canada in 2002, served as a mission officer in Nigeria from 2003 to 2008 — including as defense counsel for Mrs. Lawal, who had been sentenced to death by stoning — and remains on that organization's board and executive council.
