About Peter

Peter Northcott graduated with his LLB from the University of Alberta in 1984. While at law school he volunteered for Student Legal Services for three years assisting individuals facing criminal charges, was elected director of the Criminal Law Office Project, and served as President of the Law Students' Association. He articled with the Attorney General's Office in mostly criminal prosecutions, was called to the bar in 1985, and then opened his own criminal defence firm, conducting trials and appeals for more than 30 years. His practice is focused almost entirely on defending individuals charged with impaired driving and related offences.
