About Perry

A founding partner of Freedman Benipal Wu LLP, Perry Benipal is a litigator whose core work is recovering secured debt for lenders through foreclosure, power of sale, and mortgage enforcement. He represents mortgagees and private lenders in possession proceedings, summary judgment motions, injunctions and contested disputes over mortgage validity, priority and alleged fraud. He appears regularly before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and his reported decisions span commercial and residential mortgage enforcement, fraud claims and estate-related disputes. His practice also includes residential and commercial real estate transactions and corporate and commercial matters. Before co-founding the firm in 2026, Benipal practised litigation at a Toronto firm and built a foundation in real estate practice earlier in his career.
