Employment & Labour LawPaulette S. Haynes is the founder and managing officer of Haynes Law Firm, a boutique employment law firm in downtown Toronto that she started shortly after her call to the Ontario bar in 1994. Her practice is devoted exclusively to employment and labour law, representing both employers and employees in workplace disputes, and she has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada, the Tax Court of Canada, and various administrative tribunals. She is the author of Human Resources Guide to Non-Standard Employment (Second Edition), published by Thomson Reuters Canada, and she previously taught employment and labour law at Toronto Metropolitan University; she is currently an adjunct legal studies professor at Seneca Polytechnic. She has completed mediation training with the New York State Unified Court System and advanced commercial mediation training, and she serves as a mediator on the 8th Judicial District Court Roster of ADR Neutrals and with the Center of Resolution and Justice. She holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School.
