Paul McLennan is the principal of Contreras McLennan Law Corporation, a family law mediation, arbitration, and litigation firm in Victoria, BC. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria (2003), a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto (2006), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba (1985), and is accredited by the Law Society of British Columbia as both a mediator and arbitrator. Paul began his career at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP in Toronto, articling and later practising corporate-commercial and commercial real estate law, before co-founding Contreras McLennan in Toronto in 2006. He relocated to Victoria in 2011 and re-established the firm there, and has since appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and Ontario as well as various administrative tribunals. During law school he won several awards, including the David Roberts Prize in Legal Writing and two Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP awards for excellence in intellectual property and real property research. Before practising law, Paul worked as a professional artist managing painting studios in several international cities.
