He is a founding member of the Black Lawyers' Association of Nova Scotia and a past president of the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia's Valley Chapter, and he has served on Nova Scotia Barristers' Society committees including its Discipline Sub-Committee and Bar Admission Course Screening Committee.
