About Patrick

Patrick Yip is a lawyer practicing in association with Starkman & Zhang Lawyers, focusing on civil litigation, commercial disputes, contract drafting, and real estate litigation. His training spans three common law jurisdictions: he began with a Graduate Diploma in Law and an LL.B. from Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, later completed an LL.M. in Canadian Common Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, and earned a Global Professional LL.M. in Innovation, Law & Technology from the University of Toronto. He obtained his Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation in 2024. Patrick assists with motion practice, drafting pleadings and motion records, and preparing matters for court and examinations. Before turning to law, he worked as a financial advisor at Scotiabank and as a financial journalist in Hong Kong, experience that informs his practical understanding of mortgages and financial matters as well as his clear, deadline-driven writing style. He is fluent in English and Mandarin and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.
