About Normand

Normand Tamaro holds a doctorate in law and has been in private legal practice since 1982, handling both advisory and litigation work. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in intellectual property law and has argued before the Supreme Court of Canada, including for Claude Robinson in Cinar Corporation v. Robinson (2013). He previously chaired the Barreau du Québec's temporary committee on copyright law from 1997 to 1998. Normand Tamaro has taught as a lecturer for close to 30 years at the Université de Montréal, UQAM and the Université de Sherbrooke, and is the author of several legal texts and articles, including an annotated edition of the Copyright Act (Carswell/Thomson, 2019, 11th French edition, 24th English edition).
