Partner (Retired) at Levitt, Lightman, Dewar & Graham LLP
Murray Lightman joined the firm in 1977, teaming with Fred Levitt to bring broad family law experience to the practice at both the trial and appellate levels. His guiding philosophy was to be reasonable when possible and aggressive when necessary. Throughout his time at LLDG he devoted considerable energy to community and professional causes, volunteering with the St George's Adult Literacy Program to help adults improve their reading, writing and math skills, and with Culturelink to help newcomers to Toronto build language skills and integrate into the community. He also coached the firm's sponsored hockey team in the Swansea Girls' Hockey League and served for many years on the area committee for Legal Aid in Etobicoke. Murray retired from the firm in December 2018.
