About Mohamed
Mohamed El Rashidy founded Rashidy & Associates and has practised in the Greater Toronto Area since 2001, handling criminal law, civil litigation, personal injury, family law, and community advocacy matters. He has appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Federal Courts, and was the first lawyer in Canada to bring a constitutional challenge against Bill C-51's sexual assault provisions in R. v. F.A. He has also negotiated multi-million-dollar settlements in high-stakes civil matters. Beyond his practice, Mohamed is a frequent legal commentator, having spent five years as a regular guest on CBC's Power & Politics and appearing on CTV News, Global News, CityNews, TVO, and CP24. He has held leadership roles in national human rights and civil liberties organizations and contributed to Ontario's Anti-Racism Directorate. He earned his HBA from the University of Toronto and his JD from the University of Manitoba, and speaks English, French, and Arabic.
