About Akbar
Akbar Mohamed began his legal career in South Africa, earning a B.A. and LL.B. in 1984 from the University of the Witwatersrand and running his own practice there before moving to Canada. Once in Canada he completed his accreditation equivalency in 2002, earned a J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2003, and finished the Toronto Bar Admission Course later that year. He was called to the Ontario Bar in July 2004 after articling and working as an associate with a Bay Street firm. He now has roughly three decades of experience spanning civil law, corporate commercial matters, personal injury claims and family law, alongside a technology background that includes designing and deploying legal software. He holds a particular interest in litigation, wills and estates, immigration and personal injury files.
