About Michelle

Michelle Vigod is a partner with a broad transactional practice covering corporate and securities law, particularly mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate finance. She advises public and private companies on domestic and cross-border matters ranging from company purchases and take-over bids to capital raising, corporate reorganizations, and private equity work, and also counsels clients on governance, continuous disclosure requirements, and legislative compliance. In 2020, Michelle was recognized as one of Lexpert's Rising Stars for lawyers under 40. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, teaching Business Organizations as part of the Global Professional Masters of Law Program. Michelle was called to the New York bar in 2009 and the Ontario bar in 2012, and before joining Goodmans she practiced as a corporate lawyer in the New York office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.
