About Michael

Van Dusen grew up in Aylmer, Quebec and worked in surveying, restaurant management, French teaching, and as an editor for the Canadian Press before pursuing a career in law. Van Dusen earned an undergraduate degree in Communications and an LLB from the University of Ottawa, then articled with a multi-service Ottawa firm before spending 15 years at Goldberg, Shinder, Gardner, Kronick & Tavel and Burke-Robertson. Van Dusen opened the Van Dusen Law Office in the village of Russell in 2001, focusing primarily on insurance law. Van Dusen practices in both English and French and has appeared before all levels of the Provincial and Federal Courts. Van Dusen is a certified mediator, having completed the Mediation and Advanced Mediation workshops through MDR Associates Conflict Resolution Inc. in 2015, and received the Gordon F. Henderson award for community service.
